Local service working together to provide affordable  opportunities for local families to build memorable  experiences. Please note most of our services do not provide activities over the Christmas period.
SFA School Holiday Activity Providers have confirmed compliance with Working With Children requirements. Please note those activities where  parent/carer supervision is  also required.

Building Recovery Capability locally

Community recovery specialist, Anne Leadbeater, and renowned clinical psychologist, David
Younger, will provide overviews of key recovery principles and insights into their extensive
experiences working with communities in the post-disaster environment.

Presenters

  • Anne Leadbeater is a leader in community recovery and resilience. Following the 2009 Black
    Saturday fires, Anne coordinated the initial recovery efforts for the Kinglake Ranges
    communities. She has also worked in communities recovering from drought, flood, cyclone
    and earthquakes across Australia and New Zealand. Anne was lead writer on the review of
    the national Community Recovery handbook and has authored papers on communicating in
    emergencies and community leadership in disaster recovery.
  • David Younger is a Clinical and Consultant Psychologist with over ten years’ therapy, clinical
    intervention and psychosocial recovery experience. David provides assistance to disasteraffected
    communities, advice and guidance to local and state government, and Recovery
    Cycle and Psychological First Aid training. David is a current member of the Emergencies
    Psychosocial Reference Group for the Department of Health & Human Services, and natural
    disaster consultant to Red Cross
