After the Fires is a well-being program for Blue Mountains residents to come together and process the emotional impact of the recent bushfires and move forward in a positive way.
In the aftermath of the recent bushfires, many in the community are feeling weary, anxious, sad and distressed.
Grief over the impact of the fires on people, property, wildlife and the land will be deep and ongoing.
This program will assist participants to feel supported, less isolated and empowered to see a path of positive recovery. Processes will include sharing, storytelling, personal reflection and writing, mindfulness/visualisation exercises and practical planning for the future.
After the Fires aims to provide a safe space for reflection, for participants to feel grounded and begin the journey of recovery and renewal.
